McABEE BEACH
When you dive at McAbee Beach you become on of the many Monterey tourist attractions and you'll be sure to have an audience! McAbee is great for checking out the anemones, sponges, and usually playful otters. Depths range from 10-40ft and the entry is usually sheltered from the predominate swells. McAbee typically has an extensive kelp forest populated by a number of creatures. On the rear wall of the Spindrift Inn there is a shower for rinsing off.
Directions: McAbee Beach is on Cannery Row right in the middle of everything. Park across the street from the El Torito Restaurant, between Hoffman and Prescott Avenues, and find the path on the west side of the restaurant. Pay attention to the signs about where you can and can't unload.
